Activated alumina for fluoride removal

FLUOROCEL™

Patented alumina for removal of organic and inorganic fluorides.

Patented alumina for removal of organic and inorganic fluorides.

A fluoride guard needs to be installed to prevent downstream corrosion from organic and inorganic fluorides as well as meet product specifications. Evonik offers solutions to deal with both types, in vapor or liquid phase in each process stream after the fractionator.

Fluorocel Activated alumina is required to remove fluorides from propane, butane and alkylate streams after the HF Alkylation reactor section. If left in the process fluid, risks of downstream corrosion of equipment and health risks are high. Due to its numerous characteristics, including high resistance to temperatures and stability, it is used for a wide range of applications. Activated alumina is highly effective as an adsorbent or desiccant and is often used as a catalyst in various industries.

Markets it serves: Refining

Applications include: HF Alkylation – propane, butane, and alkylate effluent streams

How to store and handle: Shelf life of 5 years as long as it is stored in it’s original containers/packaging in a dry, covered location protected from the ambient environment. Protect it from direct exposure to sunlight and rain, keep elevated from the ground to ensure that there is no exposure to liquid water. Do not expose to excessive temperatures (450 F, 230 F).

*Customized Formulations*
